Ross was born and grew up in Hamiota MB, the youngest of 5 siblings. He had so many fond memories of his childhood, and summers spent at the family cabin in Shoal Lake. After high school, Ross started working for the Royal Bank in Steinbach, MB, moving on to Rivers, Atikokan, ON, and Pierson where he met his wife Eva. Ross and Eva were married in 1986 and lived in Virden, Roblin, and then Russell where Andrew was born in 1989. From there he was transferred to McCreary, where daughter Jenna was born in 1992. From McCreary, the family moved to Ste. Rose, and then to Killarney where Ross began working for Westoba Credit Union in Ninette, in 1998. Ross retired from Westoba in 2014.
Ross's favourite thing to do was to spend time at our cabin in Shoal Lake, surrounded by his large extended family. He spent hours driving the boat for countless skiers and tube rides. He also loved visiting on the deck, playing cards and games, golfing, and doing many odd jobs at his own cabin, and also for the 10 other family cabins. In the winter he enjoyed curling and volunteering at Killarney United Church on the finance committee (of course!). He also loved to travel, and enjoyed trips to Europe, Australia, Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, and every Canadian province. Ross also loved socializing with his many friends.
Our hearts are broken by this loss, and our lives will never be the same.
A private family service will be held at the Hamiota Cemetery on Monday, July 12th, at 1:30. The family invites you to watch the livestream below.
