December 24, 1967 to January 27, 2025
57yrs old
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Kevin. He is sadly missed by his loving wife Cindy (Rocky and Hank); sisters Brenda (Scott) Gerrand, Cathy Lonsdale, Karen (Brian) Hopley; brothers in-law Bruce (Angela) Forbes, Raymond (Jill) Forbes; and nephews/nieces Derek (Kelsey), Candace (Will), Andrew (Jordyn) Gerrand; Sarah Lonsdale; Regan and Curtis Hopley; Brae (Brianna), Teige (Kaytee) and Bronwynn Forbes; Kenzie and Keri Forbes; and numerous cousins. Kevin was predeceased by his parents Ivan and Mary; and his in-laws Bill and Kay Forbes.
Kevin will truly be remembered for his love of grain and cattle farming. He grew up on the family farm near Oakner working beside his parents. After he received his Ag Diploma, he continued to farm in addition to other ventures which included custom farm work and accounting. Kevin was not one to sit idle, always thinking, and with that the farm grew. The love for his animals and especially his cattle was evident to anyone that knew or spoke with him. He received recognition from the MB Simmental Asc. as commercial producer of the year in 2014.
Kevin touched many, many lives throughout his short 57 yrs. He was that friend and neighbour who would stop everything to help out and with all the patience in the world. He will be so fondly remembered and missed by those that he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Hamiota United Church. Lunch will follow at the Hamiota Community Centre. Interment will take place at Scotia Cemetery at a later date. For those that were not able to attend a video recording of the service can be viewed below.
