Betty attended Grades 1-12 in Hamiota and started her career as bookkeeper at the Hamiota Co-op. She married Earl Gregory of Decker, MB. on October 17 1952 and they enjoyed 50 years together. Betty was the bookkeeper and receptionist for Decker Transfer and later Gregory Sand and Gravel for many years. She also worked at Armstrong Agencies and Sears for a number of years.
Betty’s love for family and community was shown through everything she did. She was an active member in the United Church and the U.C.W., Hamiota Agricultural Society and led the Hamiota Home Economics 4-H Club for many years. She volunteered for over 40 years with the Hamiota Archives Group. She loved reading, needle work, gardening and knitted many afghans for her large family.
Many good times were shared with friends, neighbours and the “Red Hat” ladies. She always had time to share a cup of tea and visit. She enjoyed living at Lilac Residence over the past 9 years.
A Celebration of Life service was held at the Hamiota United Church on June 21, 2024.
She will be missed by many but as she said “she had a terrific life”.
