Barbara Lynn Stamford of Brandon lost her short battle with cancer on November 11, 2024 at Brandon Regional Health Centre. She was born April 13, 1973 to Hilton and Margaret Stewart at Brandon General hospital. Barb attended Valleyview Centennial School and graduated from Vincent Massey High School. She continued her education at Brandon University, Advanced School of Hairstyling, Assiniboine Community College, and Robertson College.
Barb married Nau Chen August 8, 1998 and they had one child Riley Chen. She married Barry Stamford July 16, 2011. Together they raised her son Riley and stepson Colby Stamford.
Barb co-owned and operated the Sub Shop and later had various jobs cutting hair, selling paint, and other retail stores. During her teenage years she enjoyed track and field and soccer, as an adult she continued to play soccer and some hockey as well as the boys biggest fan in any sport they were in. Barb grew up going to Lake Metigoshe in the summers with her family and her dad pulling her around the lake water skiing. In 2011, Barb and Barry purchased their own cabin and created many memories with the boys.
Barb is survived by husband Barry; children Riley (Jordyn), Colby; sister Wendy (Greg); mother Margaret; sisters-in-law Dorinda, Brenda (Ron), Sharon (Scott); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father Hilt and mother and father in-law Fred and Eileen.
A celebration of life will be held at the Imperial Ballroom, Victoria Inn, Brandon, MB on Saturday, November 23rd at 3pm. A private interment will be held at Miniota Cemetery.
