Diane Selent Obituary

Josephine Connie Diane Selent, affectionately known as Diane, peacefully passed away at the Hamiota District Health Centre on Monday, March 25, 2024, at the age of 87. She was the beloved wife of Waldin Selent and a devoted mother to Carolyn Selent-Wild, Catherine Butzko (Bill Kroeger), and her late son, Wally Selent. Born in Pine River, Manitoba to Joseph Napastiuk and Natalia Bagan, Diane leaves behind siblings Henry Napastiuk, Betty Reid, Virginia Mangum, and Arlette Dunbar, who will fondly remember her.

Diane's life was deeply rooted in her Christian faith and her commitment to her church community. She found solace and joy in her daily devotionals, taking comfort in the teachings of the Bible. Together with her husband, Waldin, they built a successful painting business and owned a convenience store, motel, trailer park, and gas station. Their shared passion for travel led them on countless adventures, exploring new destinations in their trusty motorhome, especially during the winter.

Despite her many accomplishments, Diane's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. Whether she was tending to her garden, cooking a delicious meal, or sharing stories with loved ones, Diane's warmth and kindness radiated through everything she did. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
