Mary (Boots) Emma Curtis
Mary Emma Curtis known by all as "Boots" passed peacefully on March 23, 2024. She was born July 6, 1926 in Portapique Mtn, Colchester County, Nova Scotia.
She is survived by her daughters Bonita Goertz and Rosalie (William) Buggs; grandchildren Kathie Hird, Derrick Wagner, Daphne Stumborg, Troy Quon, Melissa Buggs (Tyler McGregor); great grandchildren Khristin Wagner (Marc McNanny), Brodie Hird (Nicole Saarela), Sherylee Toews, Madison, Samantha, and Erika Stumborg, Ryan Wagner; sisters Catherine Slobodian, Jacqueline (Andrew) Sitter; sister in-law Gwynneth Ettinger; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husbands Robert Klaudt and Bob Curtis; son in-law Daryl Goertz; brothers Charles and Gerald Ettinger; sister Edna Best; and brother in-law William Slobodian.
She was a dynamic woman who was constantly busy with many hobbies such as: cooking, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She loved camping, gardening, cards and bingo at the 55+ Centre and socializing with her many friends. She loved going to the casino and travelling, going on many cruises.
She will be greatly missed by her entire family and all her friends.
In her honour, a Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Kenton Memorial Hall, Kenton, MB at 2:00pm with a reception following. A private interment will take place at the Greenwood Cemetery.
