Frances E. Kirkpatrick; beloved wife of the late Howard A. Kirkpatrick; passed away at Riverdale Hospital in Rivers, MB on December 16, 2017 in her 89th year.  She was born on November 8th, 1929 in Welwyn, SK the oldest of six children.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Howard; son Murray; daughter Sherry Kamula; parents Edwin and Jean (McLellan) Fisher, Welwyn, SK; brothers Fred, John, and Garfield Fisher.

Mom is lovingly remembered by her daughters Judy (Doug) Jago, Rivers; Lois (Gerry) Schoemperlen, St. Francois Xavier; and Dawn (David) Ammeter, Dufresne; son-in-law Don Kamula, Murillo, ON; as well as grandchildren Mark (Joanne); Lisa (Ryan); Paul (Annette); Brenda (Ryan); Quinn; Jamie (Dan); Roxanne (Sean); Michelle (Tom); Kellea (Dan) and Kathe (Jeff) and ten great grandchildren.  Two brothers Everett (Carol) Fisher, Cayley, Alberta and Wesley (Cheryl) Fisher of Lethbridge, AB; and sister-in-law Jo Fisher of Edmonton, AB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  We all loved her and will miss her dearly.

Frances and Howard were married July 7th, 1951 and raised their family on the farm in Oak River.  Besides being a devoted wife and mother, she worked part-time at the RM office in Hamiota for 25 years.  She was also very involved with the Legion Auxiliary in Oak River, Hamiota and Rivers for 50 years and always had time to take part in her kid’s activities while we were growing up and later her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Mom and Dad enjoyed their travels to Hawaii, Europe, the east and west coasts and the many bus trips to the States.

The family wishes to thank the many Home Care Aides, the doctors and nurses who took care of her, and the palliative care volunteers.

As per Mom’s wish she is to be cremated and a private family ceremony will be held in the Hamiota Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Riverdale Hospital Palliative Care Fund, Rivers, MB, R0K 1X0 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415 1st St, Brandon, MB, R7A 2W8.
